Giving thanks.

How cute is this?!  Taken after her nap, with "Beau" the bear.  And that dress?  She wore that dress last Thanksgiving too.  I was shocked that it still fit!

We have so much to give thanks for this year.  Two beautiful, healthy children.  A warm house.  Reliable cars.  Food on our table every night.  Wonderful family and friends.  God has blessed us so much in 2010, and we are excited to see what 2011 has in store for us.

Is this a problem?

Amelia refuses to drink her milk unless it's in a coozie.  Problem?  I can feel the judgement in the eyes of onlookers when we're out and about.  Yesterday we were at the grocery store and a woman did a double-take, seemingly to make sure I wasn't giving my child a beer?  I don't know...either way, I think it's funny.  My child, 19 months, drinks from a coozie.  Proud, party of one!  :)

Life as a family of four

We've been a family of four for almost three (three!!!) months now, but the past week has been the first we've lived as a true family of four.  It's been wonderful!!  Of course it was hard and bittersweet to pack my car and drive away from Indiana and my parents and the comforts of my childhood home.  But it's been amazing to have Paul with us for breakfast, lunch and dinner the past 10 days, wakeups and bedtimes and all the time in between. 

It's nice to hear Amelia giggle while he tickles her or chases her around the house.  It's hysterical to hear him read her a classic bedtime story ("Love You Forever") where he changes the words to "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, I'll stalk you."  Oh my goodness I stopped and laughed out loud when I heard that from down the hall!!

Anyway, here I go yet again promising to update the blog more often, but this time, I really truly promise, y'all!  Hopefully things will slow down a bit when Paul goes back to work on Monday, and I can use nap time for things more productive than hanging pictures, dusting, folding laundry, etc.  You know, things like blogging...

William's Nursery!

Oh how thankful I am to have a handy daddy and a handy hubby!  Thanks to the hard work of both my dad and Paul, the nursery is finished!!  I get very OCD about my babies' bedrooms and get all these grand ideas in my head...and the two amazing men in my life take my crazy ideas and turn them into reality!  Big thanks to them both.

Here it is!

We still have some small details, but it's about 90% complete.  I love it, and I hope Willie-Worm does too as he grows!
